Default Z6 or b18

I want to turbo my civic but my very reliable friend told me that on a d16 long block i would spit my rod bearings easy even if im running 8psi. He told me i should buy a Z6 bottom and then i would be fine..I was wondering if it would just be smarter to do that and turbo it or drop a b16 in it and turbo that?

its simply a matter of what you want to spend. if you have the money sure do the B16 and turbo it. but just building the d up will save you some money.

A Z6 is a D16, so either your friend doesn't know turbos, or he doesn't know engines. At 8 psi, the bottom end won't really be a problem as long as you've got a decent tune.
