z6 head mini me swap vs. reliability

Default z6 head mini me swap vs. reliability

i plan to put a vtec z6 head on my d15 block..... but someone told me its not worth it, its worth to just do a full engine swap and the z6 head will not run properly with my block itll be a disaster cause it wont work as one component.... anyway i think hes full of ****...... wut do u guys say

You've already got a thread for this topic, why start another one. No one pushes USDM D15s because of their rods, so I can't tell you the limit. The stock D16 limit goes higher and higher all the time though. If you're willing to spend $700 for a set of Crower rods, or limit your power to say 175-200hp max, then keep the D15. Otherwise swap to a D16. Forged D16 rods can be had for $200-$300 btw.

well idk, i've seen complete D16z6's get bought for like $750, and a mini-me isnt gonna cost much less than that. If you do a mini-me and do it right and dont cut corners, its somethin real good for your engine though man. If you got a couple extra hundred, i say jsut swap er

750 for a z6?!?! jesus.. I paid 200 for mine.

I think Flip means the FULL swap, not just the block and head.
