Z6 v. Y7 HEAD & ECU

Default Z6 v. Y7 HEAD & ECU

I currently have a da6y7 with a obdII so if i switched to a d16z6 head with obd1 what ecu do i get? just a p28 with obd1 or 2? obviously the z6 is vtec but im not sure which to get. please let me know

yeah you will get a p28 with the conversion harness. will have to wire vtec as well

p28s can be pretty expensive now cause there so popular other ecu's can be made to be p28 equivalents but if your not chipping it or anything like that a p28 is a stock obd1 ecu for the z6 so you will be fine with that. And like riceburner said if you want vtec which im sure is the whole point it will need to be wired in also you have to get the conversion harness to run obd2-obd1. lots of places sell those.

Dont forget that obd2 to obd1 conversion not emissions legal.
