Default K20a2 swap to an ep3

I have a k20 in my ep3 right now, right? I want an RSX k20a2 and LSD, which I'm assuming would be a solid 8 grand of work, and tuning and such. Would all of my mounts, and braquets work, or would I need new everything?!

In other words, can I put in the motor, and then the trans later, or would I have to do it all at once? I know it's probably a better idea to do it all at once, but would I be able to just basically swap the engine and transmission on separate occasions if I wasn't able to do it all together?

And I found this k20a2 as well, and do y'all think it's a good buy and whatnot? I'm just now starting to think about this stuff...

hmotorsonline is a very reputable source for a motor, I know a lot of people that have gotten motors from them and are pleased.

assuming you have the stock A3 then the A2 is a great swap, but you dont need to do a whole swap to get good power.... you could swap a k24a1/a4 head which is from a CRV, and brian cower stg3 cams, Kpro, retainers, springs and vales, and a good tune and you would be at about 198whp. and prob about 144Tq. it would prob. be easier then doing a full swap.

yeah, it's a form of mini-me swap (like putting a vtec head on a non-vtec D or B series). It's the same idea as putting a B16 head on a B18 or anything along those lines. Personally, I'd just swap the whole a2 over... it comes with the head, it has a metal intake manifold, and a 6-speed transmission. (also, to do everything soprano listed would probably cost more than an a2 swap to get to the same amount of power; Kpro alone is over $1k)

Don't quote me on this, but I doubt you'll need new mounts since you already have an a3, and you won't need to tune anything unless you modify it.

Thank you for the information. I probably will stick with my a3, and use that money to boost her. Though, I wouldnt mind getting cams for her. Doing some research on that now, as I need it to pass inspections.

also, set some money aside for a Kpro. You won't see real gains until you tune it.... a Kpro is something like $1000 to $1500, depending on if you send Hondata your ecu or not. I know the generic combo for rsx guys is intake/race header (only if you don't need to worry about emissions)/exhaust/kpro.

Also, don't buy cams until you know if you're boosting or not... N/A cams are different than turbo cams.

I am looking into that, and hopefully this winter when I take my car off the road I can decide and do that up.
