Installed brand new wipers all around(latitudes) And had the headlamp lens restored. See Pics
May I ask what you used? I've wanted to use the mothers kit for a while, but there is no arguing with results like yours...

i just bought a brand new clutch kit from hondapartsnow.com for my Civic....about to go try to install it now.

the old one was slipping on second which is odd, cuz typically my older civics had this problem in 3rd gear.

I Had this guy do it professionaly, cost me a $100.00 bucks, but he has a 5 year warranty, he coats them with a clear type of enamel. I went this route because I have seen people who use kits from the store And it does not last long. I think my local dealership does it aslo for like $80.00, this guy comes to you, so i did while i was at work. P

I haven't done anything, but my girlfriend did total my car yesterday. Anybody near New Hampshire want to buy 4 Yokohama winter tires? 185/65/R14. 1,500-2,000 miles on them, bought in November, snow didn't come until two weeks ago. Eh? Eh? Yeah.

I washed and waxed it. I also sprayed the trunk with rubberized trunk bed coating. I will be soundproofing the whole car.

keep this thread alive...

but let me start from the beginning.

My civic is boosted, recently had new pistons installed because some of the last vitara's were cracked. This shop also took off the head, made sure everything else was good, new headgasket, blah blah blah.

Well just recently I've been having fluctuating engine temperatures and a loss of coolant. Everytime I hit the gas and rush the coolant through the temps would drop and every once in a while would start getting hotter. Check the levels again later and I would have a loss of coolant. I also noticed some dry spots on top the radiator.

I decided to replace the radiator cap, still had the same issues.

Finally, today I rented a pressure tester and a cylinder compression tester from advance auto. The pressure tester from autozone doesn't fit our radiators so I took that back before going to advance.

I first checked the cylinders, everything was steady across all 4, within 9 psi from lowest to highest reading. So I ruled out a headgasket failure across the cylinders. I drained the oil to check if any coolant had mixed, oil looked good.

Went to test the radiator/coolant system and all the radiator caps I have, everything leaked. So I had to go to another advance auto to get a working pressure tester and all the caps but the one I replaced was good. No leaking.

So I try the radiator and instantly see a slow and steady drop in pressure. I see coolant leaking from underneath and it's coming from the back side of the engine. Worst though comes to mind that my headgasket is leaking from the backside/corner.

I finally trace the leak and it's coming from my heater control valve or the hose attached to it.

Thank god it wasn't engine related as I've only had it for a couple months since it came back from the shop.

I just need to replace the hose or heater control valve if it's cracked, and fill up on oil and coolant.

Got done with everything today. Hose end was fine as was the heater control valve stem. Might've just been the hose clamp holding it that loosened up, luckily I had a squeeze clamp that size so I replaced it with that.

Picked up some coolant, bled the system and filled up the oil.

Default New Honda

I have a 2012 civic coupe and would like to add vent visors, but they are not available. Also, trying to find a windshield tint strip. It appears that I will have to wait awhile until accessories are made for the 2012. Any suggestions on the strip?

Tried to replace the clutch master and slave cylinders, but the hard line from the m/c wouldn't unscrew (probably hasn't been touched since the car was assembled 15 years ago...), so I spent the day bleeding the hydraulics (fun to do with a leaky m/c).

To make up for the loss, I finished up the mounting for my Scanguage II, removed the cup holder cover, adjusted the timing, and cleaned up some old adhesive left over from the previous owner losing the "Civic" emblem.

Wow, do I know how to party, or what??

Default My 83 Honda Civic 4D sedan

I love my Honda, and now, I am getting ready to fix it up in classic style. I am battling a few mechanical problems along the way.

What I have done to date:

Rebuild kit on Carb, however it's leaking gas again!!! (AMG so frustrating)

Ignition Switch modification (couldn't find a correct ignition switch, and the mechanic I used to do the work said he couldn't find one either and did a toggle/button type thing. It's hidden so I dont mind it. However I would like to get a correct switch at some point)

New Starter

New Fuel pump / extensions on corroded fuel lines

New headlight switch, but the dimmer part is not working.

New tires!!!! Need tires to gogogo!

Things I am planning on doing----
Get that damn carb fixed - new one or whatever. I am new to NJ and am trying to find a reliable decent mechanic that isn't going to rape me in costs.

New doors and locks.
New license plate lighting / housing (mine was stripped out when I got the car, to which I installed a trailer light so I am in compliance when I drive.)
New trunk lock mechanism
Need to fix the windshield wipers. I have to use a screw driver to get them to work!!!! It's pretty funny but I'm quite adept at it.
New dimmer for head interior lighting.
Upholstery and other cosmetic work inside.
After all that is done --- new paint. I may go with the original color it was which was a light metallic blue. Or I may go weird and do orange or something. Dark Orange. I am not sure.

I want to restore this car to is original glory.

Any ideas or someone who knows how to find the right parts, let me know!
