06 ex vs. 01 tiburon
This kid i know has just recently purchased a 2001 tiburon 5 speed, and since the day he got it he hasnt shut up about how fast it is. His car has a 2.0 which i read is putting out about 140hp. My car is a 06 ex coupe 5 speed with a 1.8l and is rated by honda at 140hp. I havnt personally said my car is faster cause i dont feel like eating my words, but i think i do have the faster car. He wants to run them and im just wondering what everyone thinks. His car is stock, mine just has a cai. Eaither way im going to race him, im just wondering if i should put some money on it or should i just see what happens.... Thanks

2006 Honda Civic EX Coupe 5MT SOHC

I wouldnt put money on it, its way to close to call. This race would be pretty much about who is the better drive. I believe that will determine which car is faster. The civic weighs a bit more and lacks the tq to take off, yet it has the HP at the higher RPMs to respond against the low tq. With the CAI on the SOHC civic, You dont necessarily gain any low end tq, as a matter of fact you lose the low end and gain a small bit of power (if any) at the top end (4-6k). The Tiburon is a bit lighter and does have the 16V DOHC so it does have the nice tq to take off ahead.. again this would be a close race, if you mess up a shift or if he does, its the other guys win.
