06 manual transmission
anyone not really satisfied with their car. myshifter seems not smooth at all ever since i bought it, especially downshifting into 1st. also, the car seems kinda jerky, like if you take your foot off the gas and then accelerate, it kind of jumps. its not like the car has alot of horsepower. at first, i thought it was just me getting used toa new car and clutch, but not anymore

Well, I can't directly answer your question, but I can give you some information that might help you find out more.
I used to have a 2003 Civic LX with a 5-speed. While the shifting action was very smooth and precise, sometimes the car would 'jerk' under certain throttle applications. Usually this happened in lower gears. The major difference between that car and your car, however, is the electronic throttle mapping. Maybe the new calibration made the phenomenon worse?? As far as the 8th gen MTs are concerned, I've read in a few places (and heard some first hand reports) that the5 spdsaren't as buttery smooth or precise as the 7th gens.
Other than that, all I can say is that the 6spd in my SI is completely living up to and exceeding my expectations. Far better than my last civic's tranny.

I agree with the 6 speed comment. My Si tranny feels awesome. As for you having trouble going into 1st, are you stopping completely before shifting. Because mine doesn't like to be rolling and shift into first. Otherwise, this is the best manual I've ever driven. It feels like a videogame.
