Default 1999 Civic Lip Kit

Hey guys,

Right now my 1999 Civic LX is all stock, and I want to make it look sportier. Someone told me about lip kits being much less ricey than the huge cheap body kits on the market. So, can someone recommend a quality lip kit that will fit the '99 model? Also, I've never made any mods to my car so I have no idea how to install it. Is it simple? If anyone has any pics of their cars before and after installing a lip kit, that would help me out alot.

Also, what is a quality spoiler company?I'm not talking aboutthe big huge ricey wings, but the smaller, better looking ones (sort oflike this: http://www.hsv.com.au/images/cars/gts/spoiler_lrg.jpg)

go for the stock SI spoiler. it's as decent as you're going to get (if that's how you want to spend your money).

good luck and here's a couple of them you could get...

abs plastic is the best bang for your buck with the type of material for your lip kit. follow the diy 97_ex posted and you should be good to go. good luck with the install and post pics when you get done.

Thanks for the replies guys. On the ebay link for the SI spoiler, it says it comes unpainted. Where should I take it to get it properly painted to match my car's color? Or, can I buy the paint and do it myself ?

you local body shop would do the trick! they will just look at your door jam and get your paint code, then they'll fix ya right up!

Right on. I think there's a DIY for paint as well...check that section of the forum.

Ok cool. Say I bought one straight from a local Honda dealer...will they paint it and install it or just install it?

should come pre-color matched if you buy direct from the dealer (be prepared to lighten your wallet quite a bit)

installing it is pretty much a matter of drilling some holes, which I'm sure the dealer would do as well for a cost
