Default 1999 Civic Si axles

So I bought a set of Auto-Zone axles a few weeks ago, and within a week the axle boot closest to the engine, on each axle, is ripped 360 degrees. I'm looking at some axles from the driveshaft shop, and I was wondering if these will hold up better than the auto zone one's. I hear this company makes really good axles. If not, what are some good axles, that will actually last me? I have between 350-450 to spend. My car is lowered around 2 inches I think. Thanks! http://store.jdmcars.com/merchant2/m...ory_Code=axles

Thanks, I'll look into them. Anyone else got any opinions, though?

Take your axles back to Autozone for new ones because they have a lifetime warranty. The boots probably tore because of your 2" drop, so the new ones will probably rip too.

I know they have a warrenty, already been through it twice, I am going to be taking them back, getting new ones, and selling them. Thanks for the help, though. What I was asking was if there was a set of axles I could buy, and still keep my drop, yet not have to worry about them tearing the boots like crazy. As long as they aren't outrageously expensive, I'm not too worried about the price. I have around 450 saved up, and I figured that could get me a decent set. I know I see hondas around all the time that are lower than mine; there has to be a solution. Someone help!

That's what I was thinking too, put better boots on the AutoZone ones. Also you can adjust the neutral strain on the boot by where you clamp it to the axle. Honda dealers have what I think are official sanctioned rebuilt stock axles, not terribly expensive.

I also believe that the Honda OEM boots are thicker/stronger then the aftermarket boots on a parts store reman axle.
