Default 1st drive

yesterday me and my dad went to the park to teach me how to drive my civic ( straight shift ). well, i got the hang of 1st to second....neutral to 1st i really havent got it yet. me and my mom just got back from the park about an hour ago and i did a little better today, but i still gotta let the clutch out a little slower and figure it out. i tried to drive it down my driveway and i gave it 2 much gas, went dead- jumped all over and not enough gas let out on the clutch too fast... it pissed me off and i got out and told mama to drive it to the garage. im not very patient but maybe ill learn quick. daddy yells at me and says son u are gonna tear the clutch out...well, how about all of your 1st experiences with a straight shift? how long does it take to learn!!!!!!!!!!!!?

Quit taking it to the park and up and down your drive way and go by yourself out onto city streets. You'll learn that way a hell of a lot faster because you're forced to. With what your doing it's like learning to speak spanish when you live in Canada. Learn by saturation. I stalled a grip for the first 2o min - half hour or so when I did that with my 300zx, but I got a hold of it after that.

cool man, as long as you respect that car and treat it right, you're going to have a blast with it. Just don't be a stupid ******* and do something dumb and wreck it. I've seen way too many kids in my old highschool do that with nice cars.

La Jolla High School (La Jolla is San Diego's Beverly Hills). Kid gets his license at 16 and the parents buy him a Ferrari, that's right a Ferrari. Couldn't find an insurance company that would cover past liability. Three weeks into driving the worthless POS totals his ride. I-D-I-O-T!
