I just got a notice in the mail from Honda for my 2007 Civic Si. If you car is painted Nighthawk Black Pearl, Crystal Black Pearl or Fiji Blue Pearl, your paint could have been applied wrong and have an increased chance of cracking on the hood or tops of the fenders. Honda is extending the warranty to 7 years from original date of purchase or if your vehicle is already 7 years old, then the warranty would be extended to 6 months to the mailing of the letters.

The only thing I'm not sure of is if Paint chips are also considered cracks in the paint. This is the only Civic i have owned with problems of chips in the hood.

Figured id give everybody a heads up on this. If anybody wants to see a copy of this letter i will be happy to scan it and upload it on here.

 

Take it to a dealer & see what they say. Maybe a FREE paint job.

 

Hey guy I got a letter in the mail few week back about a paint warranty extension, and notice that my hood has been cracking so I decide too take it to Nelson Honda in El Monte.
They sent it to Fix Auto " l" Monty body shop And Nelson Honda took really good care of me and Fix Auto "l" Monty did a great job on my on si it looks better then before!
