Default 2006 MPG

Just got a 2006 EX Coupe automatic earlier this month. Mileage for the first tank with 90% highway driving (under 65mph) was a lousy 26 mpg. Second tank was about 75% highway driving and mpg was about 27. Has anyone seen this. Was not lead footing this at all. Thanks

It will get better after you break in the motor...I'm getting 26-27 in my Si with city driving and a lead foot.

Last time I looked I got 27 bout 75% city driving and with a very heavy foot bout 9,000 miles at the time. With an Ex you will be seeing much better than that once broken in.

First tank was 27mpg. Since then, Im averaging 35 mpg and do 90% highway at 70-90 mph. Put on 3k miles in the first month.

Hi Everyone. New to the site. I'm having the same bad gas mileage as everyone else. I am not a leadfoot, either. I got 27 on my last tank, running AC on the way home everyday, I have a 40 mile commute and there is 2500 miles on it. I was told it will get better when it has more miles, but I can't see how it would be that much better. Otherwise, I am happy with the car except for the handling glitch.............

Its broken in by 2500 miles. Its not going to improve. Do you have a lot of stop and go traffic during your commute?

I am having exactly the same concerns, about 1000 miles so far, AC, hwy/city mix, 27MPG
I wonder if tire variations are affecting the milage???

i don't understand your problems here, i drive 40 miles per day. tons of stoplights, ac on all time, the first tank from the lot i got 34 mpg. i drove 270 miles and it only used 8 gallons of gas. 22 dollars.
