If you are rollin on open roads you should be hitting 35-40 mpg easily. The stop and go stuff is what kills it.

Make sure you keep fresh oil in there, and use fuel injector cleaner fluids regularly and should easily get over 30 mpg out of your civic.

I am getting about 37 on my 08 LX coupe with 54 miles each way daily.
