those are the 2 that i was going to say . a cold air intake is a good way to start. and dont make me laugh..your talking about a honda here...QUALITY...of course it will last you until after college. intake helps front 'breath' better, and exhaust helps the back 'breath' better, i say go for it!

Intake, header, and exhaust. ~1000-1500. would hang there for a while, unless you are serious about modding, then I'm going to refer you to this post 7th gen mods

Exhaust is a good mod to do and the loss in back pressure that your are thinging of is most likely misguided. get the truth here!

As far as mods--Cold Air intake would definately improve breathing (the current design is very restrictive).

I would also consider exhaust modifications, but I would spend the money on stainless steel if I was going that route. If you are worried about sounding like a punk *** kid, with a crappy drone sounding muffler, spend the coin or don't bother.

To improve performance you could also consider light-weight alloy rims (this can improve off the line acceleration by reducing inertia)

I have the 2001 Si Coupe--its an overall great car once you learn all of the tiny quarks

(Don't mess too much with the engine unless you actually plan on joining the cuircut)
