98 civic air temp sensor help

Question 98 civic air temp sensor help

hi i have a 90 civic hatch with a 98 d16y8 swap into it. my car is burning a lot of gas. my air temp sensor keeps melting in it.. i was woundering if anyone knows the resistance of a 98 d16y8 for the air temp sensor or if you know how i can bybass it or even find a bypass mod.

Not sure i completely understand about melting it in..!! I never have any problem with that motor in my car.

But if you wan to bypass it, move sensor to the intake tubing (modify), and block off the original port on the intake mani with a steel plate....

There's no way there should be any melting on a non-turbo setup. Maybe the valves are misadjusted or the cam is out of time allowing hot gas to blow back into the intake.
