I was looking to replace the distributor cap on my civic and i ran across the clear one made by ACCEL. Has anyone heard anything about these? Im just curious if the sparks inside are going to effect the long term clarity of the cap?

If the cap is plastic, it is no different than a stock one... which is plastic.

 

i know, im not talking about the material that the cap is made out of im just wondering if i put it on, is the "clear" plastic going to get all fogged up and stuff to where its not really clear anymore?

 

Some dust is formed from the rotor contacts during normal operation. You can see it on the inside of a used stock cap. It's not a huge amount though.

 

you can always buy plastic polish & polish it up if it does cloud up
