I think the first US models to get airbags were the Type r 6th gen...
not sure though
my 88 doesnt have airbags if that helps...lol

'92- 93 had only driver side airbag... 94+ had driver and passenger side air bags

Sorry.
So '92 only had drivers side air bag and 93+ have both drivers and passenger
