Default all motor or supercharger?

I recently purchased a 1994 civic coupe ex. I was wondering on some suggestions on what build to do. I have a d16z6 vtec and i thought a supercharger would go nicely with the vtec starting to pull at 5500 rpms. All motor though can be fast and i wanted to hear some opinions. Also i would like to hear some suggestions on what exhaust to go with. So far i have checked out the greddy evo2 and sp2.

Super charger would be nice, little expensive though. If you could go all engine i would. Check out DC sports, Tanabe, Megan Racing and theres lots of others.

turbos work great with 4 cylinder cars. you should read about it, i think there is FAQ in the turbo section

superchargers are more for v6 and v8 cars.

All motor is expensive as hell. Especially for a d16, at least if you want to make real power.

^ +1...Turbos are much better suited for our little 4 cylinders. Do tons of research, and be sure to check out the Forced Induction section of this forum.

Turbo. End of story.
For exhaust I recommend Apex-i WS2, which is very similar to the GReddy SP2, or the SP2 itself. Both are great sounding exhausts. Stay away from no-name eBay garbage. Also, i'd stay away from loud exhaust like Apex-i N1, and Megan Racing Drift Spec (some people like it but I still think it's too loud).

FYI, your VTEC engages at 4800RPM

mmmmmm supercharger whine, nothing like it. better then a BOV, IMO.

anyways to the OP, you will spends 3 - 4 times the amount of money to make your D series run 12s then you would if you add forced induction to it. Even if you swap in a B series you still cant get those kind of times from all motor without some serious cake!

I have my integra supercharged....... go turbo

i am going supercharger because of the lack of dough. trust me i would turbo it if i had the cash unless someone knows where i can get a used turbo kit for a d series pretty cheap.

my vtec curve was reset to engage at 5500.

hmmm? Turbos are way cheaper than superchargers. You can piece together a turbo kit for $1500-$2k; the cheapest you're going to find a supercharger kit for will probably be around $2k-$3k. Unless you're talking an e-charger, in which case you're wasting $300.

And do the names "lingenfelter corvette" or "hennessey viper" ring any bells? Turbos aren't just for I4's... turbos make more power than superchargers no matter what the application.
