Any one think this also
Ok on cars like civics and other front wheel drives wont a spolier or wing put down force on the rear wheels and take it off of the ones moving the car? i had a heated battle with a friend about this and i can see it being functional on a rear wheel car when your goin fast as hell but wouldent a wing/spoiler on the hood put down force on the drive wheels but look dumb? this might be a repost if it is sorry.

Not necessarily.

you only need a wing on a car going eh 200+ mph

True true. For street speeds, hell even most highway speeds a wing is doing nothing or next to nothing.
The only reason I havent' taken mine off is because I am waiting to get it repainted. (I dont want the holes in the trunk if I take it off. LOL)

the cars already going to have downforce on the front of the car because of the way the air flows over it. A spoiler on the rear of the car would keep the car stable at high speeds through turns and bumps (even one thats front wheel drive)......But like tater and windcalmer said it would only be effective at like 150+ mph

side note: thats why formula one cars have that wing shaped nose because they are going 200+, and at that speed the car starts lifting off the ground like an airplane would of that size. If it didn't have extreme downforce on the front.

thats what im saying is that they dont do much unless at very high speeds. i guess im a fuction over fashion kind of person, if it dosent enhance performance its junk, for the most part

A wing on a FWD car for example a EG hatch is not really that important. However if you look at the european hatch front wheel drive F2000 rally cars the wing does work..however they do not reach speeds of 200mph or even 150mph ...but for everyday drivers if it is not factory don't bother.
