Default Any tips on finding out which motor I have

when I purchased my '88 civic, I was told that the previous owner had swapped the motor out with a new motor? So now I am trying to buy some parts to do a tune up, but I am not sure which year to look under. The only thing I see was a code on the valve cover that a parts shop told me was from a '92-'96 years motor. I was hoping that there might be some tell tale parts/signs that might help me ID which motor I have???

I found the following numbers:

D15B
2403179

Last week I found a link that someone put for what motor was installed in what year civic...Any info would be great, I don't want to order partsto do a tune upand not have it for the correct motor. The civic is a 1988...

if there are no numebrs after the D15B and jsut plan D15B then its JDM if there is a number after the B then its USDM.

Just give them the year/make/model, and when they ask you whether you have the 1.6 or the 1.5, tell them "1.5"

JDM = Japanese Domestic Market
USDM = United States Domestic Market
