well i just found out i need a new cylinder head on my 96 dx. my budget for up grades was 1100 about. and its gunna cost me about 500 to get the new head put on.

so heres my list of things to buy...just got back from running around various autoparts stores:

High-Temp spray paint (head cover dress up) - 4.44 (2)
AEM Short Ram Intake - 98.88
APC Pedal Set - 14.98
Street Scene speed grille - ??.??
that all comes to about 150.00
so that pluss the 500 for the cylinder head, and 300 for paint leaves me about 150 to spend.
what do you guys suggest i spend the last bit of money on...

 

if you want to get some better handling, I'd suggest ebaying some strut/tie bars. they reduce chassis flex. probs only about $60 or so with shipping and handling on ebay... just type in 96 honda civic.

you should be able to get a dx head basically for FREE, and most of what you listed isn't "upgrades."
$300 to paint what?!?

 

the car needs a paint job...its peeling and fading over the whole body...and what would you consider upgrades. the hightemp paint is for engine dress up, i think thats an upgrade. also where could i get the dx head...not the head cover but the actual head

 

Upgrades would be drivetrain, or suspension performance, pedals are not an upgrade, most cosmetic work...

 

$150 - Some alcohol, food, and a great time with your friends.. I say save it. You dont have to spend it just because you can.

a $300 paint job is not going to be an upgrade

 

A decent $300 paint job would cover a lip kit and a spoiler.... Im wondering what a $300 paint job for a car would be.


Oh, dont get the APC pedals.

 

i checked with maaco and standard paint with same color is in the 250-300 range.
