Default Best price on an '06 EX Sedan?

Never had a problem with dealing with my previous WI honda dealerships... Now they are telling me MSRP or go pound sand. I've always been able to get $2k+ off even the most desireable models (even backorders models). MSRP? I refuse! They quoted me $19,310 and told me that was $500 off MSRP. Well, since MSRP is $19,010 (according to my sources), their math is fuzzy too.

Anyone else have input?

Thanks.

Wilde Honda was the place that quoted $19,300 (which is $500 off msrp according to them). They said they were giving me that special price because I was coming from Madison and was a repeat customer. The sales manager said all internet and phone quotes were being quoted msrp. However, I did an internet quote for them and recieved the $19,300 price quote by email. I don't like getting jived, but they are the only dealership in the area to have them... The Zimbrick dealership doesn't have them in-stock and won't for 2-3 months. Waiting isn't an option as our old civic was totalled in a flood...

Just for giggles, we drove the Toyota Corolla "S". It's a few thou cheaper, but drove like crap. Our '99 civic handled and cornered tighter and was more powerful... However, it is now a boat. See below:

Any thoughts on the spoliers (trunk and ground?). I like the sporty look of the Corolla "S", with the spoliers all around, but Honda prices them too high I think.

That sucks dude. I think they kinda got me a little on my car. I payed about $500 below book and that's it... they said they were "slow that day" and were "going to give me a deal" and "since I came all the way from Rockford".

Unfortunately, I was short on time and the reason I drove that far is because I couldn't find any civics in my area so I was kinda stuck. [&:]

I got the best deal ever... I DIDN'T buy a Civic EX for $19,300, I wound up finding the exact match Accord and bought that for... only $19,300 (brand new). My new Accord is an EX with a peppy MT. I can't believe the difference between the Accord and the Civic. I'm glad I wasn't able to find a Civic (anywhere in the entire state). Sorry, but I'm no longer a Civic owner anymore... I'm now a member of the AccordForum website. I still loved my civics and may return someday... but not for a while!

Yeah no kidding.... would you folks quit buying up all the Civics! Called 3 dealers before I found one i could even test drive.

Their 'deal' on an EX was $19995.

My bank (USAA) provides a locating and negotiating service so I'm going to see if they can do better. They did great a couple of years back on my wife's Toyota Sienna at only $1000 over invoice.

I was very happy with the Civic ride and feel over the Corolla. But if they don't come down some off this price......

Will report back on my pricing/decision.

If you mean a used '06..... a quick scan of Atlanta papers shows only 6 available. Only 2 are EXs and believe it or not they were at and in one case above MSRP. The 2 EXs were at 4k and 6.9k miles.

If you mean older Civics.... I think we're all looking at '06. I don't dig the 7th gen Civics like the '06. My father owns one and it just doesn't excite me.
