hey yall, just got a new 05 EX coupe, just wondering something...........will the gas mileage get better on this as the engine get broke in? On my first tank of gas I got about 26, a little disappointed. Thanks for any info.

 

yeah once you break that sucker in you will knotice much better milage! but you sould of waited for the new si. when you see them you are going to shi/t your pants.

 

as far as i no..it will stay the same, read your honda manual..there will be somthing in there if it is like that, but it all depends on how you drive too, pushing the gas peddle in fast, stop and go alot,a/c,driving agenst the wind..lots of stuff

 

As far as break in goes......now the mechanics say that you should NOT baby the engine. This ensures that the rings get properly seated.

There was a thread about this once. If you try a search, you may find it and it had a good link to a site about break-in procedure.

 

Thanks everyone, I remember reading about not babying it. Guess Ill have to go out and get me a ticket! Ill look for that break in site info.

Yah, I got it on the clearance!!!!!!!! Gotta love that. Really good little car, but the 06's look sick!

 

And you might also wanna think about switching over to synthetic engine oil. But not right away, cause I believe you're supposed to break it in with regular oil.
