good numbers on gas for some but I am at 275-295 on a full tank i have a2000 ex AT 4dr the most I have paid so far is just under $35 to fill up but it is alot better than my 1992 Lexus es300 which was costing around $50 to fill up every 4 days.

okay i have been watching this thread for a little while and after 2 tanks as my test it seems that i cannot NOT get 300+ miles on a tank.
I am on my third test tank and i have gone 170m and it is just above the half way line (depending on which way i turn ) i tried driving rather aggresive and still got 308 on the tank and that was mostly city/traffic driving. Not bumper to bumper but a lot of stop and go.
During hurricane Katrina when i had my 97 LX i got about 40+ MPG going no faster than 55 on the interstate and never getting above 2200rpm around town. We had to drive an hour just to get gas and then wait another hour in line so if you really had to you guys could get 400 miles to a tank
And the second time i put 11.4 gallons in there and it was about to die when i did that so i second the no way to get 11.9 gallons low thing

I can't speak for the model year Civics you are talking about, but the last three tanks from my logbook on my '06 LX manual were:
407 miles on 10.231 gallons for 39.8 MPG
413 miles on 10.563 gallons for 39.1 MPG
363 miles on 9.463 gallons for 38.5 MPG
The Owners manual says I have a 13.5 gallon tank, but the guage shows empty at about 11 gallons. I understand the catalytic converter gets messed up if you run out of gas so they want to make sure you never run out.

actually i think that's a myth, when you run a fuel injected vehicle all the way out of gas, it messes up the fuel system (mainly pump).

Keeping a vehicle low on fuel all the time, never filling it past 1/2, could burn out a in-tank pump that is cooled by being submerged. Fill the tank when refueling and this shouldn't be a serious problem.
