Unhappy Car Alarms When trying to open the door and will not start

Hi,

Mine is 2001 Honda Civic Ex. Today when I tried to unlock the doors I didnot hear any beep sound which I used to hear normally. But, the lock lever in the doors came up. When open the door it starts alarming. If I try to start the engine it is not starting. The alarm stops after around 10 seconds I press the lock button in my remote. Mine is factory installed alarm system. The remote control has the Honda name in it. When I press the lock button I can hear the beep sound but when I press the unlock button I dont hear it.

Yes Chris you are correct. My battery was gone. Got it replaced and now it is working fine. I had to tow it to the dealer as I was not able to figure out how to set the alarm off.

I had something kinda like that my neons would flicker on and off when i tried starting my car and my alarm would set and reset at the same time. I had a stock starter installed and a new battery and it stopped. Good thing it was something simple
