My civic with a h23 non vtec is redlining at 5500 rpm...i was thinking it could reach higher...but i can get to 60mph in second gear before it redlines...so i was thinking my tach is wrong or is this how this motor performs...

 

If you can't take it past 5500 then there is a problem. The tach is electrical, so it will either work, or not work I believe. It won't just kinda work or anything like that.

What ECU are you running? Any CELs?

 

I have P14 and yes i have CEI but its for my O2 Sensor
