Default Civic made in Canada vs USany difference?

I am considering purchasing my first Civic, and I noticed looking up CarFax reports, that some are manufactured in Canada and some in the US. Is a car manufactured in Canada preferred over one made in the US? Is there any one manufacturing plant that is preferable over others?

I am looking for used cars (2003 - 2006). Does anyone know of a particular model year that is better? Or has inherent problems? Or are they all basically the same?

Any advice anyone could give on selecting the best model year or questions I should ask a dealer would be greatly appreciated.

i dont think nor have heard of any differance between the two. i've had both. i generally would not buy a car the first year with a new body/ drivetrain just because sometimes there are bugs that need to be worked out. but that goes for any make/model. good luck

if im not mistaken it is 92-95, 96-00(99-00 had optional dohc and lights veried slightly)01-05 in theses years i think the headlight and tailight designs very slightly but the bodyand engine stayed the same and 2006- current.

I was under the impression that a US "EX" was a Canadian "Si". Certainly this was the case in the past (source: Wikipedia.com)

Not sure about 7th/8th gens though... Us Canadians always get the royal shaftola.

^^ its true. I have an EX. Make that a Canadian EX, which means its the same as a US DX. Seems like the canadian models are equal to one step lower in the US model, but I havn't really looked into it that much... ANyone have more input on this??
