Hey everyone I'm new to the site and I joined because I want to buy a civic and I'm un sure of what year to look for, what motor it should have ect. I would appreciate the help.

no one can tell you that. Its what your looking for, daily driver, boosted, na, what body style you like. Its up to you, just search around here and you will get a feel for how different chassis' respond and look to modification.

 

99-00 SI... sweet car! b16a2 170 hp! not cheap tho!

 

if you can find any 96 or newer SI hit it up, those are the best you can get.

 

there was not a SI made from 96-98, they stopped within those couple of years. a 99-00 SI would be awesome if you could get your hands on one. preferably one that has not been modded too much. the SI is the sport model, 2 dr coupe with a nice engine in it. then there is an EX which is another coupe, but it does not have that powerful of a motor. there is the hatchback models, LX (4 door) and DX models as well.

 

I've always been partial to the late nineties hatchbacks and coupes... styleistically, they are the most appealing to me, plus the reliability and prices are nearly unbeatable.

I really like my 97 EX coupe. It's got a D16Y8 in it, which is a single overhead cam (SOHC) inline four cylinder that is supposed to put out 127hp stock. Plus it's VTEC assisted, which is really nice. I'm all about the really decent daily driver. Like t34me said, it's all about what you want and need.
