How are you guys getting bags over the distributor and stuff? There are the spark plug cords coming out of it. I'm not very familiar with anything under the hood, so...Maybe I shouldn't try and spray it down =p
And I'm not sure where the distributor is either.
I feel like I should cover up a lot more things than just the battery, alternator, distributor and air intake...like maybe the fuse box, oil dipstick hole, all that stuff

fuse box should be fine, that's why it has a lid
oil dipstick is fine, the dipstick has a seal on it that keeps the hole sealed. to cover the distributor you take the wires off, then cover it with a baggie, and then cover the spark plug holes on the valve cover

OH, so I disconnect the spark plugs and yank them out, or leave plugs in and wrap the ends up in saran wrap?

I think I'm just gonna handwash it with a washcloth and some mild soap and degreaser. I obviously don't know enough to be doing something like this.

plastic wrap ftw, lol. I just wipe it down with mild detergent from time to time to keep it from looking like addiction's. and yes, a pressure washer is a must (thank god i have one, lol)

i just wraped the plastic grocery bag around the complete distributor wires and all and just used some tape to hold the bag tight around the neck of it.
thats the main thing that needs covered... the fuse box lid is sealed enough to not be a problem.
