Default clunk in back of car 98 civic

I have a 98 hatch that has 1" lowering springs front and back. I bought it like that and the kid says he put new kyb shocks on it too. For some reason i have a clunk when hitting small cracks and bumps in the road. otherwise is quiet. I have been told it might be a spring seat problem. any facts to this?

Could also be a blown shock (new shocks can blow, especially if they're not matched to the spring rate), or a torn trailing arm bushing.

Could be a loose or missing bolt. Could also be the metal portion of the dust boot that covers where the shock piston goes into the shock housing.
