Default condensor fan fuse

i have a 96 civic and a while back my condensor fan fuse blew. i replaced it and the a/c worked fine for a couple of months until the fuse blew again. the next time i replaced it, the a/c worked a few minutes before it blew again. any suggestions as to the problem.

thank you,

Default RE: condensor fan fuse

I think the compressor clutch is on the same fuse. You could have a partly shorted clutch coil or a bad condenser fan or a short in the wiring somewhere. Can you spin the condenser fan freely with the car off? If not replace it. You could also run just the fan by unplugging the compressor and engaging the A/C to see if the fuse holds. Resistance of the compressor clutch (from the wire to ground) should be more than 3 ohms.

I think it may be a fan problem, try greasing the fan, if it is hard to spin it means its drawing more amperage than its supposed to which is why the fuse is blowing.
