I'm a newbie be here but found "racer4"'s posting really humorous. To think he can offend anyone with his quick off the cuff wit, I'd guess he is 12. I have found my 96 Civic to be a fantastic daily commuter and with the price of gas going the way it is my other vehicles will spend more time in the garage. My 86 GT Cobra is always a fun drive but just eats up the wallet and my 74 V8 Vega is even worse (9 mpg). I think OPEC really loves that car . I'm a new Honda owner but the conversion has been painless and actually quite enjoyable. I've put 50000 kms (31000 miles) with no major out of pocket expenses. I've already found this Forum and the Tech forums very helpful already. Love Honda's or hate em but you can't beat the way they pass most gas stations on there daily commute, and for $26 cdn to fill I'm not going to complain.

Thanks Forty.

Yeah, I ran an 89 Ranger for 6 months and that thing rocked everything. The gas mileage on it was icky though, so I sold it.

Oh, and speaking of converting friends (getting back on topic now.) That friend of mine with the Tempo, is picking up a 2005 Civic LX from the same place as I. He test drove it and absolutely fell in love. I guess now there'll be 2 new Honda owners around here.

yeah, i had an 87 ranger for awhile, it was good for going hunting and fishing, but i was only getting like 18 MPG with only a 2.9L. didnt have the power to justify crappy mileage. then the hydraulic lifters started going out. so a rebuild was needed at 105k. i loved the truck, but thats good old american reliability.
