Default coupe vs hatch

Hi everyone, first post here and i hope someone can share their wisdom! Im in the market for a honda civic (is it EK? (96-00)) and ive seen a really nice condition coupe for sale (a vti with the 1.6, b16?). I understand the mechanicals are identical to the hatchback. Is this true? Are they the same to drive? Also, ive seen pictures in tuner magazines of both the coupes and the hatchbacks; the hatchbacks in my eyes always look great on any size of wheel (15"'s or 16"'s look stunning, it looks like you've built the car to drive not to pose in) but the coupe only ever looks good on 17"'s and 18"'s. I dont know what peoples opinions on this 'style' thing are but obviously the smaller the wheel the better the ride/handling is going to be (generally speaking). Can people with combinations of these wheel sizes and cars comment on this - it would be great!
I hope this is posted in the correct section!

thanks

as far as i no the mechanicals are all the same, but different sizes..but dont hold me to it, its kinda hard to tell you what to get tho, i liked the old school hatchs alot, around 95ish...but i dont like the 99-00 hatchs just because the widow in the back is on to much of a slant, dont get me wrong tho..iv seen some REALLY nice ones, i guess its all personal preferance

the hatches are generally lighter, because they only came in the lower base models with less options. they should be the same to drive, i mean its a honda

Ive seen some nice coupe's on here but it has to be the 92-95 EG hatch for looks, although I like an EK hatch if its done right.

If the coupe comes with the B16, and the hatch doesnt, get the coupe. If theres a B16 in the hatch, you shouldnt even have to ask. Hatchback all the way, its what Ive got my eye out for.

I thought vti's where d15b (1.5 soch vtec)? You should get a hatch and put a b-series in it, hatches are the ****! I've had 3 hatches and one coupe. I sold the coupe to start my new hatch project!
