Default cup holders

For all of you who have a 92-95 civic (maybe other gens as well), you will know exactly what I'm talking about.

THEY SUCK! Anyone do any reasonably cool/useful/easy mods for them?
The ones in there right now are just...bad. I should take a picture to show everyone how awesome they are.
You think about turning and whatever's in there is suddenly on the floor.

You can add the cup holders from a Taurus.

What year Taurus did you get those cup holders from? How much fabbing did you have to di to make them fit?

They're from the year 90's models. I think 94 and below. There is 0 (zero) fabbing to be done, just a little cutting with a dremel. It's way easy. Come summer when I hit up the junk yards I'll be picking up a bunch and cutting them so that they are ready to go.

talk about cupholders that sucks, so does the one in my 99 civic. got to hold the drink down with one hand while driving with the other so it wouldn't fall. it's like Honda didn't research/experiment with them before putting them in our cars. lol

i like my 96 cupholders myself.... all the others i dont care for...

another option for you guys is get a center arm rest console and fab up your own cupholder..... with a few trash bags or grocery bags and a can of expanding foam and your typical cup you use...
open your arm rest top stick the bag in there to line the bottom twice, put another bag over the top arm rest and your cup cut down so it fits inside the arm rest with the lid closed and put a bag over the cup as well then you simply spray the foam in and put your cup where you want it, spray some more foam around it and then just close the lid and let dry....
best to put some weight ontop of the lid to keep it closed since the foam MIGHT lift the lid a bit.... and then when it dries overnight simply open the lid take off the bags and you should be able to simply pull the whole piece of foam out of the cup holder.... and now you have a perfect fit cup holder that you dont have to worry about it tipping over.

For those taurus cup holders, I don't have an empty "slot" I could put it in
I've got my ac control unit thing
then right below that is my radio, which is where your holders are I think
then below that it dips into the ash-tray, where you modded and put in..something...a whole nother set, I don't know

This would probably be a lotta modding for me

I didn't mod anything. That is a Honda Optional Part (Audio Console) instead of the ashtray coin console piece. They run 100+ dollars depending on where you find them.
