Default difference between CX and VX

I have been trying to find out what the difference is mechanical from CX to VX but haven't found a single clue on how they get 90 hp with low mpg with the gas price rising and me a student i am looking to get a VX but can't find none in canada unless someone can prove me wrong. So just wondering can a CX engine or Car be modded to a VX? If it can what parts do you need to get there. Thanks a bunch!!!

cx is base, vx is base with VTECe. you could get a vx head, but i wouldn't waste the time or money. if you're going to be putting money into it, you might as well go with an ex head and tranny.
