Difference in vtec vs. Non vtec HELP
hello people, i need to know the difference in the honda civic coupe 1.6 non vtec vs. vtec year 2000, what is the body difference if any? and which should i go for? sorry might sound stupid but its my first time buying a honda. thanks
The bodies are the same shape, except the Si which is an entirely different car. Among the standard Civics there were these levels:
DX - non-VTEC engine and few options.
LX - non VTEC engine but power windows, remote locks, etc.
HX - Version totally optimized for fuel economy. Has "VTEC-E" engine special for high mpg, not the same one that is in the EX for high performance.
EX - LX with VTEC engine. Also I think rear disk brakes instead of drums, and alloy wheels.

I don't believe there is a Civic "LS" in any country, but I don't think that is what you're talking about.
However, there is an Acura Integra LS, which has an engine in it called the B18A or B18B (nicknamed the LS engine). Now, if you take a B16A or B18C VTEC head and put it on an LS engine block, that is nicknamed an "LS VTEC". Is this what you are referring to?
