How can i get the irritating seat belt warning sound disabled. I know seat belts are important, but there are times when one has to drive for really short distances specially on private property, when there's no real need to put on seat belts.

 

highly unadvisable, go the scrap yard get a 3rd seat belt clip and plug it in, if the distances are so short, the chime wont have long enough to annoy you, and u shouldnt just wear your seat belt for the law

 

we get one of these posts a month...the best solution is to WEAR YOUR SEATBELT!!

 

^+1, if you wear it all the time, it becomes 2nd nature, it doesnt bother me to wear it i dont even think about it any more

what stops the worst driver and or the worst luck(oil spill) totalling your car, and more importantly your life

 

The first thing I do is hook up the belt when I get in the car, I feel naked without it. I have been wearing three-point belts since my '65 Volvo 544 and will not leave the yard withoutit on andI insist on all passengers wearing them also. Get in the habit. My guess is you are quite young and feel you are invincible, however you are at the age you need it most. Sorry if I sound preachy here, but I feel strongly concerning seat belt use.

Note; I always wear a helmet when bicycling or motorcycling also.

 

i just snipped the wire under the seat. I still wear my seat belt everytime though im not stupid

 

I dont have a seatbelt chime but i do have the seatbelt light is that under the seat too? Would i be able to just cut the wire so the in dash light goes off or will that trigger a CEL

 

If you wear the belt you never have to hear the chime or see the warning light. Easy solution.............

 

a CEL light is only for the engine mostly, if you snip the seatbelt wire under the seat the light wont turn on the dash ever
