hey im thinking about getting a radar and im not sure if it really works or not cuz ive heard people still get a crap load of tickets with radar. so i want to no if yall suggest i get one or not and if i should wut kind should i get?

 

If one does not have brains, no radar detector can help
With brains, it's a question of personal preference (where legal). I prefer not to have one, cause it spoils my alertness.

 

radar jammers are quite efficient but there not legal as far as i know in any state.

 

yeah the cop can tell nowadays when he is being jammed and he will still pull you over it happened to my buddy...

 

There easy to wire into the glove compartment. If its not in plane view they cant do much. But a radar jammer is really a hit or miss sort of thing now. Most jurisdictions are switching from radar to lazer so your jammer is practically useless.

 

mine works just fine here in michigan and indiana. i have not been pulled over in over a year and a half and that was when i got it.

 

yeah here in FL they are legal, and work...but the staties use laser so that sucks...

 

never had one, never needed one...

keep your eyes open and watch what other people are doing, and you'll not get pulled over....

having a general sense of the road also helps (for instance, big hill crest with no view, cop is likely to sit right on the other side of it

with detectors, you get what you pay for. http://www.radartest.com rates them and so do most of the major motoring magazines such as Car and Driver. If you want to buy a Cobra, you had might as well put a cardboard box on your dash that says radar detector because it will do the same thing as a 60$ Cobra unit.

 

yea, i would be one. i think about it like this, the first time that it saves you getting a ticket it pays for it's self. at least thats they i look at it......
