ok so i have been looking into getting a civic, but im not sure which model would be the best.
i have a b20 cr/vtec in mygarage and i was wondering which would be the best car to swap it in, and i only have about $4000 to buy the car.
should i buy a Eg style civic or save up and get an Ek?
help cause i dont know what type to get

A bit biased though, just a bit.

Of course everyone is going to tell you different.

 

eg is cheaper and lighter, rather more simple than the ek

ek is a tad heavier, but is newer with a tad more styling

both will easily be swapped with your motor.

basically, it's up to you which one suits you more

 

Ek hatch, when done right they look sick as hell. also everyone is doing up Eg hatches so you'll be different.
if ur looking at coupes then Eg. i like the lines of the Eg coupes alot, especially the 95 ex's (that's why i bought one)

 

Both are good for the swap. For $4000 you can get a really clean EG hatch shell or a decent EK shell usually. If you can find a good deal on an EK hatch, go for it. I dont really like EK coupes that much but with a little work they can look really sexy like ej4buddy's. EG coupes are pretty sweet too. Its really up to which style you like best.

id say a hatch if you want to go fast, but whatever you can find a deal for i say go for it. i like the eks a little more than the egs

 

I say EG hatch. I'm not fond of how the hatch on the Ek was designed. However, I like the EK coupes more the the EGs

 

the eg hatch is sexy..i dont like the ek hatch tails...but i love the ej (ek coupes are Ej's) the eg has a little more room for the swap...its really just opinion, the ek is new, more modern styling...the eg is a little lighter, more simple. both will get the job done...but your best bet to find a nice shell for 4k will be an eg...but, i cant find hatches anywhere around here so im SOL and have to stay with my ej..but i love it to death!
