Engine transplant

Engine transplant
Two years ago I was going home in my '90 Civic Hatch back with 4 speed manual transmission. And I was rear ended by some one. Hit and run. Rear wheels cocked but I was able to drive to my hangar and parked it. Found a good body with no engine or transmission on Craigslist six month later and bought it. Towed it to the hangar and parked it. I have been driving Accord for all this time but it is showing sign of age. So I must get back to my original plan from two year ago, transplant the engine/transmission.
The good body is the same year as rear ended one but it used have automatic transmission in it. I learned it after I paid the guy!! back then. Here are some of my questions. Would there be a problem in transplant plan? The engine compartment looks the same but how about the shift links, lever mounts and such? The ECU is missing from donor body so it too need to be transplanted. I hope it will be a plug-and-play thing. Also, I would love to have 5 speed transmission instead of 4 speed. Would the 5speed transmission from the same model year work/mate with the engine?
I hope some one can give me some ideas before I go into too deep.
Thank you.

first yes the 5 speed cable trans will bolt right up just like the 4 speed you have,
yes your 5 speed stuff and motor will fit in the new body.
you will need to just convert it from auto to manual.
you can use everything from your wrecked car.
any parts from the 88-91 civic are the same so you wouldnt have any problems.

Thank you for your post. Now I can move on with my project with confidence.
But one thing I notice while I was working on the engine. There is no engine hoist points. Do you tie ropes around? Do you pull it through under the chassis?
I must do some more research.

you can take the engine out from bottom or top, i usually use a chain, and bolt one to the exhaust stud and one to the trans. Now the engine goes in/out when the trans towards the ground and the crank pulley in the air, it isnt a even lift.

OK, thank you. I did my search in Youtube during lunch break. One of videos had kids lifting engine with chains and attaching plates on the engine. This is the way to go for me as well. I have cherry picker and balancer thing I used for Accord two years ago.

It's been a while since the last post. Well, the engine is still in the same place as it was from I don't remember when. I was reading a lot of posts regards to engine swap this to that or mini-me this and that. I couldn't find one post about the block swap (?).
My engine is D15B1. I was wondering if I could find D16(A6) complete block relatively inexpensive. I could use that block to mate with D15 head and bump up CR just a little. May be more HP???
Has anyone done this? Is it do-able? Just a thought for now. Thanks for reading.

That is what I've been reading and generally people talk about whole engine swap. My idea is not like main stream of people would do, so I thought I would ask.
I would hit local Junk Yards and see if they have anything available.
Thanks.
