Default exhaust tip

i kno alot of your prob think muffler tips are dumb, but its all i can afford until i save up toget another exhaust system. So if u wanna bash on me about it, save yourtime and dontpost.Anyways for everyone else, when i put it on it is touching thebottom of thefender. Does anyone know if the exhaust will ever get hot enough to melt the plastic? Or is that not evenpossible? Thanks alot

i GUESS it will not melt the bumper, but it is possible for an exhaust to get hot enough to melt a bumper, even a big 5 incher

What!? If your muffler tip is rubbing against the bumper of course it will melt. If that plastic gets on your muffler good luck getting it off.

if the tip of the muffeler is touching the bumper yes it will definatly melt, but if you have a bolt on tip where a tiny surface area of the tip is touching the actual muffler tip (maybe two bolts) enough heat will not conduct to the tip to melt the bumper, i only guessed that it would not melt because of this...

maybe people don't want a loud exhaust, maybe they just want it for show, maybe they don't need any hp our of it. why is he a "bitch"? a tip is not a waste due to several reasons.

and for the original post, just find a little longer rear muffler hanger or rubber hanger, that way you can lower it about a quarter or half inch at most without sacrificing joints in the system.
