Please help, basicly i think i got my engine swapped for a single over head non vtec engine... the vin was 3x cheked, thanks for your help!

hey man im brand new at forums, forget civ ones, but i think i might of got tricked by a private sale i just baught today a 99 civic si coupe and now i think about the engine compartment and nowhere to be found is the DOHC VTEC letters, anywhere! Their is no squar-ish casing on top of the engine block, and the oil stick is on the right side not in the midd like all these pictures i just cheked on the net. A 99 civ si coupe should have vtec dohc engine right? am i wrong did honda make si non vtec in canada or in the states or something? I say the states because i checked the vin, 1HGE J817 5XL8 10232 and it said it had 9 reports and was from the states! i dont want to pay 30 bucks for 1 car so can you please help me out this is no jokes, well for me anywaise. when i saw that man i think i just might of got robbed by this private sale, ill post some pictures tommorow or something...

For now im thinking i have to realise the sad fact i dont have vtec, or b16a2 engine that is suppose to come with a stock 99 civ but instead a sohc 1.6L or somethong.

man i got a 99 civic today and theres no vtec anywhere and i think it has a swapped engine for because compared to all the pictures on the net of a stock 99 civic si, they have vtec encasing and the oil stick is in the midd and the oil cap is at the top left, mine is at the right side in and the oil stick is on the left side.

Did this guys trick me and have a swapped engine from another car cuz i should have a B16A2/3 1.6L USDM DOHC VTEC 99-00 Civic Si 160hp but this cheap carfax gives me a 1.6L L4 PFI 16V the vin is 1HGEJ8175XL810232

What do you guys think did i get robbed or is this si a non vtec si (if that existe, i thaugth si meant vtec right?) everything looks legit except i mean power everything sunroof silver 155 thou kms... the engine does not look like a dohc vtec like i said its got the oil stick on the right side and the oil cap on the right side and no vtec casing so im wondering whats going on here?
