Default fuel cutoff

Okay, so... my mom drives a 2005 Pontiac Sunflower, and I was racing my friend. I missed first gear andI went over the redline... or almost went over the redline. It turns out the car cuts off fuel when Igo overthe redline... Do you think my 95 Civic has this very handy option?

I know that I cant...or... shouldnt do that, but my car doesn't have a tachometer (I havent got around to installing one yet) and I would like to know how far I can safely go without breaking something...

if you really want to know, then just wait for a tach, and don't do like all your racing video games, your motor will give out in a week if you drive like that.
