Default Fuel Gauge Question

Hey guys,

I have a 1999 Civic LX. When the car is parked on level ground, with the car completely stopped, and the fuel gauge is pointing directly on the small red notch on the bottom of the guage, about how many miles are left on the tank until I run out of gas completely?

Thanks

depends on driving aggression, in other words, there's no telling, just don't run it so low next time.

When it is on the "E", fill your tank up. Look upyour car specs to see how many gallons your tank will hold. Subtract what you put in and the result will be how muchwas left. Simple.

Method #2. Put a can of gas in your trunk and drive your car till it dies. Just hope you don't konk out in traffic. Lol.........

most fuel pumps cool using the fule that runs through them, it's really not worth running it that low on fuel. just my opinion.

fuel pumps do suffer in fuel injected vehicles when the tank is very low because of the change in pressure.

You ran out twice. Did you also have to replace your fuel pump twice? Just wondering.

I can say only that when the "fuel empty light" flashes you got approximately 5 liters of gas. so that you'll drive some more 29 miles.

I tend to fill up when it gets towards the red mark but I've never gotten to the "low fuel" light....
