Default Full size spare tire?

I just bought a 1999 Civic and noticed the spare tire (donut) is almost worn down to nothing.

Has anyone replace the donut in their trunk with a full size spare?
Thanks.

I dont think a full size tire fits in that space.

nope fullsize spare wont fit. but as long as the donute has a bit of tread it should be fine... they dont have much life even new. they are not designed for a long time replacement. they are only ment to get you off the road and to a tire shop. and remmeber the max speed on the donut and dont go faster than that on it!

Thanks for the replies.

On my Mazda 626 I put a full size spare in the trunk. The diameter of the tire would fit but the cover to the spare tire space would sit down all the way.

Maybe I could cut out a hole in the cover just large enough to fit over the full size spare?

The trunk carpet isint why it wont fit. The space is to samll, the tire will be sticking up.. if thats what you mean by "cut out a hole in the cover". Maby if you get a set of 13'' with low profiles? idk
