Hey I am brand new. And I am starting to just get into tuners and stuff. But anyways, I am posting to ask about a general price range i should be looking to spend for around a 97 honda civic ex coupe with about 125k miles. i am currently looking at some, and would like to get an idea of what a reasoable price would be.

 

It all depends man. LX, EX, HX, etc. will all varry in price, as well as the condition of the car itself. I'm assuming you mean an EK (96-00) and I suggest you get an EX if you don't plan on swapping the motor out. I got my ex EK for $2500 with 170k miles on it. I'm sure there are people on this site who have only paid about $500 for a civic in better shape than mine! You just have to keep your eyes open and be smart about buying it, check it over completly and KNOW what needs to be fixed BEFORE you agree on any price. Good luck man, welcome to the forum.

 

right now im looking at a honda civic 2 door ex with 125k miles. he wants 3300 for it, but i have my own rims so i dropped him to 2700 without the rims. and im bringing along my uncle who knows quite a bit when it comes to cars, so i will have him look at the basics of it. were gonna try to drop it more by paying cash.i tried uploading some pictures, i dont know if they worked though.

LOL, I was just about to post that! Those rims are amazing, what kind of rims do you have jt, cause the ones on that coupe are definatly sick. I think $2700 sounds like a pretty good price though, look over it to find out what kind of mods are done to it, how the paint looks, interior, etc. And definatly TAKE IT FOR A DRIVE. Listen for any weird noises, strange feel in the clutch, brake lag, etc. If he's willing to, get it inspected before you buy it just so you know what's wrong with the car, just tell the guy you'll pay for the inspection

 

Get a carfax on it to see if the odo or car has been rolled. Also check to see if the timing belt has been replaced.

 

Jt is my bestfriend in real life, so I'll just go ahead and tell you this, he doesn't think he is going to buy the rims, he is burrowing my oem wheels to take with him, because i believe the guy dropped 600 bucks without the wheels, but I am still trying to convince him to buy the wheels too, and then sell them. But right now he really doesnt have any use for rims, considering he has some but they are on my car

im not sure if i will be able to buy it now. because i have to borrow some money, that i could pay off pretty easily, and they wont let me borrow. hah. ill try asking again though soon. because i know thats a pretty good deal, before testing, maybe its not, but from how it looks right now it seems like it.
