I just found out today that someone i know has a car system that is connected to his ignition. if you try to start the car the horn honks.
in order for it to start you have to hold down his left blinker and turn the key. Anyone heard of it or anything like it, and where can you get one?????? (he got the car like that)

lol thats pretty cool. So if your not holding down the blinker it wont start at all or just the horn honks? Because that is a pretty good idea if it wont start at all.

 

dont get cheap on protecting your car!!!!!!!
buy a real alarm!
and still your cars still stealable... just takes a tow truck or a trailer and strong winch!

Thats not ghetto at all actually. When I was competing in IASCA and USAC that would score you some extra points on the security section!!! Whoever devised that method knows that car thieves know how to bypass typical alarms(and use some wiring to their advantage in some cases!!) and wanted an extra meausr of safety(something about civics being one of the most stolen vehicles in the u.s.??) So yeah, um whomever did te install knew there S**t about security!!! I'm kinda jealous!!!

 

just run a toggle switch on the power wire on your fuel pump.......put it in a secret spot and turn it off......last time I checked u cant start a car with no fuel lol. I do like that method, but id end up honking the horn all the time too.

 

^Thats what i did with my friend's car. The kill switches are good b/c a car thief isn't gonna stick around looking for the switch.

 

that is actually a good idea to set it up like that. i would love to know how your friend did that.
