Dont get a golf no matter how desperate you are . Just keep looking through auto traders, and youll eventually find one. What years are you looking at btw?
didnt mean to be off topic, but why not golf? my buddy just recently bought a used VW golf... whats wrong with golf?

Golfs are unrelaible, slow in 12 valve 2.0 form, don't get good gas mileage (like 34 MPG max) and have really bad resale value.. Oh and prepare to empty your bank account when something needs to be fixed.. You'd be much happier with a Civic, heck you'd be happier with a Dodge Neon..

Everything is rare when you are looking for it. It took me around 4/5 months before I found what I was looking for. Just hang in there, good things come to those who wait
I'll agree with you on that one. I'm lookin for an EG Coupe, i found one in my price range on Craigslist. I e-mailed the guy a week ago and the guy still hasn't emailed me back. Haven't found another one since.

There's plenty of hatches in South Africa... Actually, we only have hatches from 96' up and Ballades which i think are Civic Sedans.

Whuh? How can 34 MPG be a bad thing? I can barely get my Civic to give me much more than 23.
