Default Help: 99 Civic Aftermarket Glow Gauge wiring isssue

Hi All,

I'm new at the forum. Just looking for some help as i've searched around with no success. I've purchased an aftermarket reverse glow gauges for my dashboard.

I've read up and followed all the instructions on taking apart the gauge cluster and installed it successfully.

However i'm having trouble with the wiring as i've tried to wire the power for the gauges to the parking light switch (red/black) but as soon as i ground the negative wire the gauges light up even without me turning on the headlights.

Can anyone assist so that the gauges only light up when i turn on the headlights? Please let me know if anything is incorrect above.

This is for a 99 Civic 4d sedan.

Any help is much appreciated!!

Sounds like you simply have the wires wrong.

Give me some more details on what you did, what instructions say to do.
Also what kit do you have? Brand name what whatnot.

Hi thanks for the help PunisherInOKC.

I bought the below glow gauges from ebay. The instructions say to connect the two wires from the glow gauges as below.

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI....m=260539708425

Glow gauge (Red & black) to Parking Light switch in car (i followed the below wiring guide)

http://www.the12volt.com/installbay/...tail/1053.html

Glow gague (black) to Ground

@ Supersize yeah i have bought a switch and am thinking about doing that. Just though if there was a way to just have it connected so when i turn on my headlights they come on it'd be easier in the long run
