Default Help deciding on first civic?

Hello my name is zach and this is my first post. I hope i put this in the right forum.
I curtly drive a 04 wrx and love the car and racking up the miles to fast, but am looking to buy a cheaper car Sub $4500 that get's above 30-35 mpg on regular gas while being able to pull around 600 pounds or less as I race cross country on dirt bikes and will be using it to get to and from races (500miles round trip) car will probably see less then 7K a year for miles. I know I want a Hatch back for easy of putting my gear in and out and a 5 speed as I do plan on striping a bunch of the interior and do some track day mods as I don't buy a car unless it can be realy driven. Will spend money on brakes and shocks and decent seats before motor mods. Any input would be greatly appreciated as i don't know much about them.

IMO, go for a 92-00. You can easily find them under 4.5k on a local CL.

I got mine 99 Civic SIR at roughly 3000 with mods and nearly over 200k I drive a lot and after months I have burned mileages and loving it as full tank at $1.24/L fills me $40 for barely near 430-455 Kms per tank. I'm happy

Why not buy a small truck or something made to tow. I doubt a Civic will get 30-35 mpg with a 500#+ payload.

Because trying to find a small B2000 or 2200 that is not rusted out or under 180,000 miles in mn for a decent price is almost impossible. Even if it only gets 25 mpg but can run on reguler pump gas it will be cheaper then what i am using now to get to my races

I bought a '97 Civic LX for $1450 with 150,000 miles on it. It needs some work and has some cosmetic issues, but all-in-all, I'm thinking it's a good deal. It was a debate between the 93-95 and the 96-99, and I chose the latter because of safety improvements!
